Contractors pay the platform fee (10 to 15 percent based on DNA Score) once, when they claim a job, and Stripe's processing fee on each payment, which comes out of that payment. Change orders carry no LYEN fee.

You raise an issue and a project manager is on it, with a response target that matches how serious it is, counted in LYEN business hours (Monday to Saturday, 8AM to 6PM ET, closed on bank holidays). An emergency, like an active leak or anything causing damage right now, gets a response within 1 business hour. A hard issue, real problems with the work that could lead to a leak, damage, or a major concern, within 4 business hours. A soft issue, a smaller question or a cosmetic touch-up, within 24 business hours. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 first. We stay on the job through completion. If something goes wrong, a project manager steps in, and the optional LYEN Guarantee covers a contractor walking off, not showing up, or work failing final inspection.
No. Posting your project, measurement, your market report, bid analysis, quote comparison, payment protection and support cost you nothing. The only thing you ever pay LYEN for is the optional LYEN Guarantee, if you choose to add it. The contractor pays LYEN a small, one-time success fee when they claim the job.
LYEN checks insurance, and the state license Florida requires for that trade. The license is checked against the state record, so an expired or revoked one is caught. The insurance is the certificate the contractor provides, read by LYEN and reviewed by a person. A contractor is verified on LYEN once both checks pass, and a contractor can be invited to bid before that is finished, so every bid you receive shows you where that contractor stands on each credential.
Your market report comes first, and you get it right away: in person from the estimator the moment they finish the on-site visit, or instantly on your phone when you use the AI photo estimate. Then LYEN invites up to three pros in your trade and area, and each of them has 48 hours to answer. LYEN checks insurance, and the state license Florida requires for that trade. A contractor can be invited to bid before that check is finished, so every bid shows you where that contractor stands. Their bids arrive laid out side by side in the same format, ranked only by accountability, never a flood of cold calls.
No. You fund only the deposit, it comes back to you if the contractor never starts and it has not been released to them, and the price you award cannot increase without your signed change order.
