Terms of Service

By using lyenfl.com or the LYEN service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. The service
LYEN Inc ("LYEN", "we") operates a platform that connects homeowners with verified contractors for home-improvement projects. We facilitate introductions, communications, scheduling, and payments. Contractors are independent businesses, not LYEN employees. The work itself is performed by the contractor under their own license, insurance, and contract.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter contracts, and a US resident. By creating an account, you represent these are true.
3. Your account
You're responsible for everything that happens under your account, including keeping your password secret. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access at support@lyenfl.com. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. SMS and call communications
If you provide your phone number, you consent to receive transactional text messages and phone calls from LYEN about your project (appointment confirmations, reminders, en-route notices, follow-ups, support).
Program name: LYEN Project Communications. Description: Appointment-related SMS for your home-improvement project. Message frequency: Recurring; typically 1–5 messages per active project. Message and data rates may apply.
To stop messages: Reply STOP to any text. For help: Reply HELP or email support@lyenfl.com.
Carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. Your wireless carrier may charge you for sending or receiving messages — check your plan.
5. Quotes, contracts, and payment
Quotes from contractors on LYEN are the contractor's offer to perform work, subject to a separate written contract between you and the contractor. LYEN's role is to introduce you, facilitate communication, and process payments. Final scope, pricing, warranty, and dispute resolution are between you and the contractor.
Payments are processed via Stripe. Funds are held in escrow until milestones are released by you. LYEN takes a service fee (disclosed before payment). All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or LYEN's stated guarantee.
6. Acceptable use
Don't use LYEN to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your relationship to a property
- Solicit business outside the platform from contractors you met through LYEN, in violation of contractor terms
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or use the service to build a competing product
- Send spam, harass, or threaten other users
- Violate any law or third-party right
7. Content you submit
You retain ownership of content you submit (project descriptions, photos, messages). You grant LYEN a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, display, and share this content as needed to operate the service (e.g., showing your project description to matched contractors). We don't sell your content.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Contractor work, ratings, and verifications are based on information available at the time and may not reflect current circumstances. LYEN does not perform construction work itself and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of work performed by contractors.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, LYEN's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid LYEN in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) $100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Disputes
Disputes between you and a contractor about work quality, scope, or payment should first be raised through the LYEN dispute-resolution flow. Disputes between you and LYEN are governed by Florida law and resolved in the state or federal courts located in St. Lucie County, Florida — unless you live in a state where mandatory venue laws say otherwise.
11. Termination
You can close your account anytime in account settings. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose risk to the platform, with notice when feasible. Termination doesn't cancel obligations that survive — payments owed, indemnification, dispute resolution, etc.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept them.
