Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 6, 2026
1. Who we are
LYEN Inc ("LYEN", "we", "our", "us") is a Florida corporation operating lyenfl.com. We connect homeowners with verified contractors for home-improvement projects. Our office is in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. You can reach our privacy team at privacy@lyenfl.com.
2. What we collect
We collect information you give us and information we generate when you use the service.
Information you provide:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone number, mailing address
- Property details — address, photos, project descriptions, measurements
- Account credentials — password (stored hashed, never in plaintext)
- Payment information — processed by Stripe; we receive a token, never your full card number
- Communications — messages, calls, support tickets you send us or to contractors via the platform
Information we generate:
- Usage data — pages viewed, clicks, time on page, device type, browser
- Approximate location — derived from IP address
- Communication metadata — call duration, SMS delivery status, email open/click events
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Cookies section below
3. How we use it
- Match you with verified contractors who can do your project
- Send appointment confirmations, reminders, en-route notifications, and follow-ups by SMS and email
- Process payments, payouts, and refunds
- Verify contractor licenses, insurance, and identity
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Improve the platform — debug, run analytics, train internal models
- Comply with legal obligations (tax, audit, court orders, regulatory requirements)
4. SMS and call communications
If you provide your phone number through the project request form on lyenfl.com or the LYEN dashboard, you consent to receive text messages and phone calls from LYEN about your project, including:
- Appointment confirmations, reminders, and follow-ups
- Estimator en-route notifications
- Quote and project status updates
- Customer service replies
Frequency: Variable — typically 1–5 messages per active project. Cost: Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Opt-out: Reply STOP to any message, or contact us. Help: Reply HELP for support, or email support@lyenfl.com.
SMS opt-in data and consent. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors is permitted only as needed to support the service (for example, routing an appointment-confirmation SMS to a contractor in transit). All other categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We use Twilio Inc to deliver SMS and route calls. Twilio acts as a service provider, processes messages on our behalf, and is bound by a data-protection agreement.
5. Who we share it with
We share your information only where it's necessary to run the service, where you've authorized it, or where required by law:
- Contractors — when you request a quote or accept a bid, we share project details and contact info with the matched contractor so they can deliver service
- Service providers — Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Twilio (calls/SMS), Resend (email), Mapbox (maps), Anthropic (AI features). Each provider receives only what's needed to perform their function and is bound by data-protection contracts.
- Legal and safety — if compelled by court order, subpoena, or applicable law; or to protect rights, property, or safety of LYEN, users, or the public
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with prior notice to you when feasible
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is active and for up to 7 years afterward to comply with tax, audit, and warranty obligations. Communication logs (calls, SMS, emails) are retained for 3 years. You can request earlier deletion — see Your Rights below.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another jurisdiction with comparable laws), you have one or more of the following rights:
- Access — see what we have about you
- Correct — fix anything that's wrong
- Delete — ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations
- Port — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt out — of SMS, email, and analytics tracking
- Non-discrimination — we won't penalize you for exercising any right above
Email privacy@lyenfl.com to exercise any of these. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, two-factor authentication for staff, and regular security audits. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs that affects you, we'll notify you and the appropriate regulators promptly.
9. Cookies and tracking
We use first-party cookies for sign-in sessions, preferences, and security. We use a small number of third-party tools for analytics (page views, errors) and payment processing. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; the service may not work fully if you disable strictly-necessary cookies (e.g., session).
10. Children
The service is for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
11. International users
LYEN operates in the United States. If you use the service from outside the US, your information is processed in the US. Privacy laws in the US may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
We update this policy as the service evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect.
